Nursing Home charges

by isleofman.com 16th March 2007
A North Douglas MHK will once again raise the issue of nursing home charges in next week's Tynwald sitting.

Bill Henderson has a total of five questions on the matter, four for Health and Social Security Minister, Eddie Teare and one for Office of Fair Trading Chairman, Quintin Gill.

Mr Henderson wants to know if the DHSS is working to meet the nursing care cost element of the fees and whether it's doing anything to help residents and their families who're struggling to pay the ?695 per week charges of some homes.

He'll ask Mr Gill whether the second part of the OFT's investigation into pricings is completed, if not, why not and when members can expect to be briefed on the findings.
