No Limit to be released on DVD

by isleofman.com 15th March 2007
A TT legend is due to make a comeback this year – with the re-release of No Limit.

The 1935 film starring George Formby is to get its first ever outing on DVD, just weeks before the start of the centenary celebrations.

The musical comedy was shot in the Island during TT, and features Formby as George Shuttleworth, who enters the race on a homemade bike.

Decades before the Island’s film industry, the movie employed dozens of locals both off and on screen.

Former TT commentator Geoff Cannell’s father Jack had his big break as a stunt rider after the film’s stuntman injured himself just days into the shoot.

Filmed on location around the Island, some parts of the course are still immediately recognisable even after all these years.

Directed by Monty Banks and with a running time of 77 minutes, the movie will be available to buy on May 1.

And that will be just in time for festival visitors to buy their copy about four weeks later.
