Walker inquest

by isleofman.com 15th March 2007
A 71 year old Ramsey man died from respiratory failure as a result of suspected industrial disease.

The inquest of Robert Donald Walker, who died on February the 26th, heard he was a former ship-yard worker.

In opening and adjourning inquiries, Coroner Michael Moyle, said by law he is obliged to advise the Health and Safety Inspectorate about the death so officers could make checks at the site in question.

Mr Moyle said in the case of Mr Walker, the damage was probably done a number of years ago.

He went on to say civil proceedings on behalf of Mr Walker's family were underway.
