No pensions 'black hole'

by isleofman.com 13th March 2007
Treasury Minister Allan Bell says there is no pensions "black hole".

Mr Bell was speaking in the Keys this morning (Tues) in response to a question from Onchan MHK Peter Karran, who wanted to know what the cost would be of purchasing from an insurance company equivalent benefits to those currently being paid by Treasury to existing Civil Servant pensioners.

Mr Karran said the reason for his question was to ascertain the Isle of Man government's further commitments to pensions, and start addressing the shortfall.

But Mr Bell denied the existence of any "pensions black hole"
