Transport Minister hopeful of smooth takeover

by isleofman.com 10th March 2007
There’s hope for a smooth transition following FlyBe’s takeover of BA Connect earlier this week, according to the Transport Minister.

Flybe’s already announced there’ll be a 12-month codeshare agreement on all previous BA Connect routes to ensure inconvenience to travellers is kept to a minimum.

The agreement will allow travellers to continue having their luggage checked through from the Island to their final destination, when travelling onwards with British Airways.

That news has been welcomed by David Anderson (pictured) who says his department will endeavour to work closely with both airlines over the coming months, as well as monitoring Flybe’s intention to introduce new routes from the Island and upgrade its fleet of aircraft over the next few years.
