Nationalities Day at St Ninian's

by isleofman.com 10th March 2007
The cultures of many different countries will be celebrated at one of the Island's high schools later this month.

St Ninian's will hold a National Day on Thursday, March 22 from 2.30pm until 5pm, with countries such as India, Russia, Portugal, Ecuador and the Philippines being represented.

English as an Additional Language teacher, Geraldine O'Neill, is organising the event in association with the Learning Support Department and all schools with EAL students are invited.

Each nationality will have a display on their own culture, both in English and their own language.

Mrs O'Neill says the event aims to familiarise the parents of EAL students with the education system and allow children from different cultures to meet up and share experiences.
