Ban drug dealers plea

by isleofman.com 9th March 2007
Ban convicted drug dealers from the Island’s pubs and nightclubs – that’s the plea from Onchan MHK Peter Karran.

He says courts currently have the power to ban people from licensed premises if they’re found guilty of alcohol-related offences.

But drug dealers don’t face this sanction and in the House of Keys next week Mr Karran will ask Home Affairs Minister Martyn Quayle to extend the powers of the courts.

He says it’s important to protect young people from drugs.
