Owen - suspended sentence

A 42 year old man has been given a 6 month prison sentence suspended for two years by the High Baililff.

Terry Owen of Peveril Road, Peel, appeared for sentence after admitting affray.

The defendant became involved in an argument in a pub in Peel last December.

Owen was arguing with another man, Frank Cowin, on December 21st

Both men were extremely drunk and left the premises but the argument spilt over on to the street where Mr Windsor was punched and fell to the ground. As he lay on the ground waiting for an ambulance he was again kicked by Owen.

Windsor sustained injuries including a broken finger and severe bruising. His advocate said the defendant had been drinking heavily and was provoked by comments made by Mr Windsor about his wife.

Mr Moyle also imposed a two year supervision order and fined Owen ?500.
