Moves to speed up LegCo elections

Moves are underway to speed up the process of electing members to the Legislative Council.

After three unsuccessful attempts to fill the remaining vacant seat, Rushen MHK Phil Gawne plans to bring in an 'interim' Private Member's Bill, to change the system of voting.

Mr Gawne (pictured) was pleased when the President of Tynwald pointed out the responsibility of the House to vote-in MLCs, and says the lack of progress is bringing it into disrepute:
