Hall - drink drive jail

by isleofman.com 8th March 2007
A 38 year old man has been jailed for 42 days by the High Bailiff.

Mark Thomas Hall of Snaefell Road, Willaston, appeared for sentence after admitting a charge of drink driving.

The defendant was arrested at the new prison site on the morning of January 13th after being involved in a road traffic accident on the Sulby Glen Road just after 9 am.

He provided samples which gave a blood alcohol reading of 166 mg. The legal limit is 80mg.

His advocate Pam Butterworth said the defendant had stopped drinking at 9pm the previous night and after a night's sleep felt fit to drive. He was shocked at the high reading.

Mr Moyle said the defendant had two similar previous convictions in the UK and also disqualified Hall from driving for four years.
