Commissioner urges progress in dispute

A Castletown Commissioner has called for a speedy answer to the Callows Yard impasse.

Work on the ?13 million redevelopment in the town was stopped a fortnight ago and the site shut down ‘indefinitely’.

The man behind the scheme, Roy Tilleard, said continuing issues with the Health and Safety Inspectorate had left him with no alternative.

During this week’s board meeting, commissioner Kevin Weir suggested a meeting be organised between all parties involved, to try and thrash out the stumbling blocks which would allow the scheme to progress.
