Help for homeless

More investment is required to help the Island’s homeless, according to those behind a volunteer run initiative.

The Broadway drop-in scheme provides shelter and food for the homeless four lunchtimes a week and every evening.

However, in less than a month’s time, the evening service will end for the summer.

It's estimated at least 40 people are either sleeping rough or so called 'sofa-surfing'.

Volunteers David Boultbee and Michael Manning, says the need for the facility is growing and they could soon have to turn those in need of shelter away:
