Keys MUST elect to LegCo - President

The President of Tynwald says Members of the House of Keys must do everything possible to ensure the remaining vacancy in the Legislative Council is filled next week.

It will be the Keys' forth opportunity to elect a new member of LegCo - with none of the candidates winning enough votes at previous ballots.

Noel Cringle says another 'stalemate' situation could mean the system for electing individuals to the upper house has to change.

Speaking to David Callister on last night's Agenda programme Mr Cringle says he's unhappy at the number of MHKs prepared to abstain in an important vote:
