Suicide verdict

by isleofman.com 5th March 2007
An inquest has heard how a 56 year old Douglas woman took her own life by jumping out of a window, while suffering a debilitating disease.

Carol Anne Rice had a condition similar to MS - which affected nerve coatings in her brain, and caused unpleasant side-effects. She was also on medication for depression.

The inquest was told Mrs Rice suffered multiple injuries when she jumped from an upstairs window at her home in Meadow Brook Gardens in February this year.

Her husband found her when he returned from a shopping trip.

Mrs Rice died from her injuries in hospital the following day.

Recording a verdict of suicide Coroner Michael Moyle said people should not judge her harshly.
