One-way consultation

by isleofman.com 6th March 2007
Public consultation on making the Mountain Road 'one-way' during this year's T.T. fortnight begins today (Mon).

The Department of Home Affairs wants to hear from everyone with a view on the issue, which was suggested by the Emergency Services as a way of improving road safety.

However, there has been some concern that marshals would struggle to get to their positions around the course.

Minister Martyn Quayle (pictured) says his department wants to hear from everyone, be they for or against the plans, and will take the comments into consideration: (first audio clip)

Inspector Peter Young, says making the road one throughout the whole period is less confusing for motorists: (second audio clip)

For more information on the one-way proposal can be found at www.gov.im/dha/ceo/consultation.xml
