Average pay rise almost 10%

Average weekly pay is up in the Isle of Man.

Between June 2005 and the same time in 2006, there was an increase of 9.6%.

During that time, the average weekly pay packet was ?536 per week, and 50% of full-time employees earned more than ?457 a week.

However, the results of the 2006 Earnings Survey still show a slight pay gap between here and the United Kingdom.

The Manx average is 99.8% of the U.K. figure.
