Braddan candidate withdraws

by isleofman.com 2nd March 2007
One of the three candidates for next Thursday's commissioners bye-election in Braddan has withdrawn.

Frank Cannell has told acting chairman Ray Corkhill he no longer wishes to be considered for the position.

It leaves two candidates for the single seat, vacated by the recent retirement from the board of Garry Beattie, for health reasons.

They are Liberal Vannin candidate Kate Beecroft, who was a candidate for Middle in last November's general election to the House of Keys, and Alan Blaney, who was a Braddan commissioner for five months, some years ago.
