Divers to search for U-boats

A group of divers from the Isle of Man plan to film and, hopefully, identitfy three submarines, in Manx territorial waters, later this year.

The vessels are all thought to be World War 2 German U-boats, and have been located, using sonar, off the south east coast.

The group, from the Castle Rushen Club, aims to start the project in the second week of July.

One of the divers, Michelle Haywood, from the Discover Diving organisation, says it should be a fascinating dive, but whatever happens the wrecks will be shown the respect they deserve (audio file attached):
