A man was taken to hospital, with cuts to his face and one of his hands, after a fight, outside a house in Demense Road, Douglas this afternoon.

Police say a weapon was used, although a media release doesn't say whether it was a knife.

The injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The incident is described as a "dispute between associates" and it happened at about quarter past three, outside number 19 Demesne Road.

The suspect was arrested and has been questioned by police.

Both men are thought to be in their twenties.

Police are appealing for witnesses.

Anybody who can help is asked to ring 631212 or the anonymous Crimestoppers line, on 0800 555 111.
