Scouting stamps launched

by isleofman.com 23rd February 2007
The Post Office last night launched its Centenary of Scouting stamps.

On the 150th anniversary of Robert Baden Powell’s birth, the founder of the scout movement, both the date and the venue – Douglas Town Hall – were chosen specifically.

The town hall was the first place where scouting was formed in the Island.

It brought together two great interests for the first chairman of the post office, former Speaker of the House of Keys, Victor Kneale.

Pictured are the six stamps which are available on-line at: http://www.iompost.com/
