Birch Hill playground

by isleofman.com 23rd February 2007
New play equipment at Birch Hill playground is going nowhere, says an Onchan Commissioner.

Despite being a play area for more than a quarter of a century for thousands of Onchan youngsters, its future is under threat after one resident objected to the commissioners' bid to replace the old equipment at the site.

The area remains fenced off until planners consider the complaint.

The objection has led to nearly 200 children and adults in Onchan signing a petition to keep the area open.

Commissioner Brian Stowell says the matter is causing much frustration.
