Speedy answer sought for Callows Yard impasse

The Environment Minister John Shimmin (pictured) says a speedy answer to the problems which has resulted in the suspending of work on the ?13 million Callows Yard redevelopment in Castletown is "very desirable".

It has been closed down "indefinitely" after the man behind the scheme, Roy Tilleard, says continuing issues with the Health and Safety Inspectorate have left him with no alternative.

Mr Tilleard says the site will not be sold and his firm remains committed to developing the town in line with the original plans:
