Opportunities offered at new prison

by isleofman.com 21st February 2007
The Deputy Governor of the prison is looking forward to the opportunities the new facility will provide with regard to rehabilitation.

Trevor Hussey says compared with Victoria Road, there will be a much greater focus on challenging prisoners' offending behaviour.

Work on the new prison in Jurby is now focused on the interior, and it's hoped it will still be completed before the end of the year.

Mr Hussey says inmates at the new site will have to take much more responsibility for making sure they're ready for their release.
