MHK opposes top Civil Service pay rise

A pay rise for the Island's senior civil servants is unnecessary, but unfortunately inevitable.

That's the opinion of Rushen MHK, Quintin Gill, who is also opposed to Chief Minister Tony Brown's plans to create corporate leadership group at the top end of the civil service.

His urgent motion to put Mr Brown's bill on hold was narrowly defeated in Tynwald yesterday.

But despite the knock back, Mr Gill says he'll stick to his guns:
