Civil service salaries under attack

The Transport and General Workers' Union Regional Organiser has hit out at senior civil servants after their salaries were published last week.

Bernard Moffatt contrasts their pay of ?400 to ?600 per day with the minimum wage of around ?40.

In Tynwald today, Rushen MHK Quintin Gill (pictured right) unsuccessfully lobbied for a pay rise for top civil servants to be put on hold.

Mr Moffatt compared the ease with which their increase went through, with the Minimum Wage Committee's deliberations:
