Whale of a time in Peel

by isleofman.com 20th February 2007
There was a rather unusual visitor to Peel at the weekend.

At Sunday lunchtime a humpback whale was spotted around 50 metres off-shore.

Adults can range between 12 and 16 metres in length, and often leap out of the water.

Co-ordinator of the Manx Whale and Dolphin Watch, John Galpin says the humpback is usually seen around the west coast of Ireland at this time of year.
