Bad news for salad dodgers...

The healthy eating message is spreading in Manx schools thanks to a new government scheme.

The Healthy Lunchbox Toolkit project was launched at St Johns School yesterday (Thurs).

All primary age children will take home a 'What's in your lunchbag' kit, and schools will receive educational material.

It follows an audit of packed lunches, which revealed between 33 and 66 per cent contained no fruit or vegetables, and the average sugar content was more than double the recommended level.

Director of Health Promotion, Lesley Dorwood, says the packs contain hints and tips for parents and youngsters:
