Port Erin man returns from American adventure

A member of Port Erin lifeboat crew has returned to the Island following a major mountaineering challenge in South America.

Forty-two year old Steve Toher was part of a 12 strong team aiming to climb Mount Aconcagua in Argentina, the highest peak in the world outside the Himalayas.

Steve financed the expedition himself to raise funds for the lifeboat in Port Erin.

And while he didn’t quite achieve what he set out to, he enjoyed the challenge (audio file attached):
