MEA to the rescue

by isleofman.com 15th February 2007
A team from the Manx Electricity Authority recently came to the rescue of thousands of United Kingdom householders.

Around three hundred thousand Scottish Power customers suffered power cuts as a result of stormy weather.

Being members of a joint operational agreement with other U.K. distributors, which allows resources and staff to be shared in times of difficulty, the MEA team started work in Liverpool.

Engineer Ian Horsey and linesmen Bobby Leece, Kez Wardell and Ross Lewandowskyj, spent 6 days working on high voltage distribution, to restore supplies to ten thousand homes.
