A flagship Isle of Man government radio system reached a significant landmark yesterday evening.
The TETRA network, and associated Emergency Services Joint Control Room, processed its three millionth call after almost three years in operation.
The ESJCR handles 999 calls, while the radio network processes messages from the emergency services, TT marshals, the Water Authority and MEA workers.
Home Affairs Minister, Martyn Quayle says the system has been one of the biggest successes of joined up government, describing it as a true cross-departmental initiative.
