26 year old Diane Christina Krypner, also of Crossag Close admitted one offence of possessing cannabis resin. She was given a three month prison sentence suspended for two years.
Teare brought the drugs to the Island on July 21st, where he met up with Roberts who was under police surveillance. When police challenged Roberts he drove off from Cambridge Terrace Lane at high speed.
The two defendants denied any involvement with the drugs which had a street value of over ?61,000. Teare and Roberts also denied knowing each other, but mobile phone records showed they had been making contact with each other.
A quantity of cannabis resin was found at the home of Roberts and Krypner in Ballasalla. Krypner told police that she was addicted to cannabis resin.
All three defendants changed their not guilty pleas on the day their trial was due to start last month.
Deemster Doyle said there was an increasing problem on the Island with drugs, and sentences involving them would be serious. Detective Sergeant Phil Shimmin, who led the investigation, said he was pleased with the sentences passed and the seizure of such a large quantity of controlled drugs not only prevented them being made available to the community, but also ensured no profit was made by those responsible for their supply.
