'Fynoderee' invades UK

by isleofman.com 14th February 2007
A fantasy book about a Manx spirit and his battle against his nemesis, the bugganes, is set to become one of the most successful for some time, indeed since perhaps English Passengers.

Alexander Caine Duncan's Fynoderee, has been selected by Waterstones to be stocked in up to 50 branches across the UK. The deal coincides with the launch of an interactive web page, or a blog, where the author will discuss his novel and answer reader questions.

The author is currently working on a sequel. Those who have read the book will know quite a few buganish questions are left in the air (or rather underground).

Alexander, who was helped in his ambition by local businesman Roy Tilleard, says " besides this being the fulfilment of a huge personal goal, Fynoderee was always a story I wanted to spread beyond the island’s shores. I’m thrilled that people far and wide will be able to experience a piece of our culture.”

Fynoderee became the Island’s best selling book over Christmas. Now readers from further afield can enjoy the magic of Fynoderee and chat with the author online at www.fynoderee.com/blog.

Alexander Caine Duncan was born and raised in the Isle of Man. He is an actor and writer now living in London.
