Chief Minister confident about pensions

There's been much debate this week about whether the Isle of Man can afford to fulfil its commitments as far as Civil Service pensions are concerned.

The Chief Minister believes the job of Government is to deal with problems as and when they arise - and he's not unduly bothered by the estimated costs of paying for these pensions in future years.

Tony Brown (pictured) says that the executive set up a pension fund in 1994 when concerns were first raised about a pensions shortfall - and that the possibility of cutting back on services was a constant fact of political life:
