Dog cruelty - reward offered

by isleofman.com 6th February 2007
A local company is offering a substantial reward as police investigate an act of severe animal cruelty.

A chocolate coloured Labrador dog was found by the side of Sulby Reservoir yesterday lunchtime.

The animal's nose and legs had been bound together with silver duct tape.

It was thrown down a 30 foot high embankment and allowed to die.

Staff at Tower Insurance have been so appalled by what's happened, the company is offering to pay ?2,500 for any information that leads to a conviction.

Managing Director, David Stacey, says it's a horrific incident: (first audio clip)

Constable Eric Sloane from Ramsey police says they don't know how long the dog had been at the reservoir, but they are optimistic that the reward offered and the amount of media coverage the disturbing event has generated will help them catch those responsible.

He says they will face stiff penalties:

Anyone with information can contact Ramsey police Station on 812234.
