Picture of Mersey collision

A Steam Packet passenger has sent Manx Radio a photograph, taken moments after the near-disaster in the Mersey at the weekend.

Conrad Gibbon took the picture as the 14,000 tonne bulk carrier Alaska Rainbow loomed above Sea Express One.

Meanwhile, the collision will be raised in the House of Keys tomorrow.

North Douglas member John Houghton will table an emergency question, calling on the Transport Minister to make a statement about the collision.

Mr Houghton insists a statement is essential at this early stage (audio file attached):
