SeaCat moved to repair dock

by isleofman.com 5th February 2007
The Sea Express One has been moved to the wet basin at Cammell Laird so that a full assessment of damage sustained in Saturday's collision in the Mersey can get underway.

The fastcraft collided with the bulk carrier Alaska Rainbow on Saturday morning, and has since been at the landing stage in Liverpool, where the 294 passengers disembarked safely.

It's understood the 45 vehicles it was carrying are still on the car deck.

Andy Ball from BBC Radio Merseyside was at the dockside as the vessel was moved out by tugs:

A spokesman for the Marine Accident Investigation Branch declined to be interviewed this morning, but said incidents of this kind invariably take months rather than weeks to investigate.
