Sea safety questions from MHK

North Douglas MHK John Houghton says he’ll be seeking reassurances about safety at sea from the Department of Transport this week.

In Tuesday’s House of Key’s sitting, he plans to table an emergency question for minister David Anderson about what happened in the Mersey on Saturday.

Mr Houghton says it’s almost inconceivable that two modern vessels such as the Alaska Rainbow and the Sea Express One could hit each other.

And he plans to ask Mr Anderson for a statement on the incident:
