A 29 year old man has been given a three month prison sentence suspended for two years by the High Bailiff.

Lee Walker of Stanley Mews, Douglas, appeared for sentence.

Walker admitted assaulting a security officer at the front entrance of Strand 58 on September the 9th by spitting at him twice.

Edward Oldham reports

(Text of attached audio)
Walker spat at security officer Sean Graham on two more occasions as he was led away by police officers.

He was described as being aggressive and swearing because he had been refused admission.

His advocate said the defendant had no previous convictions, and he accepted his language and actions were inappropriate.

The court was asked to accept it was a one-off incident.

Mr Moyle told Walker the offence was very serious and he ordered him to pay Mr Graham ?500 compensation.
