Equity hopes to help local actors

The actor's Union Equity hopes to create better opportunities for its local members to be cast in films made on the Island.

Speaking at a meeting of the Isle of Man branch of the Union earlier this week, Assistant General Secretary of Equity Andy Prodger said the Island has a fantastic record of attracting big movies, but local acting talent was being by-passed as casting calls were held in London.

He believes a change to the current situation would be good for all parties:
