Counterfeit English banknotes

Police are continuing to investigate counterfeit money on the Island.

It has been found being passed to businesses in the Douglas area.

The currency is Bank of England ?20 notes and they bear serial numbers including DK 12972439, DK 19925261 and DK 11204210.

Anyone who might have any of the notes or concerns about money they may have is asked to get in contact with police.

Meanwhile officers are reminding businesses to be increasingly vigilant with regard to possible fake notes being circulated, and ensure staff know now to deal with such instances.
