Manx Air Ace dies

The organiser of the Manx Festival of Aviation, Winston Oliver has died.Captain Oliver was taken ill during the 2005 festival, and the company which ran the festival, Manx Air Aces, subsequently ceased trading.The 2006 festival was cancelled.Mr Oliver, who was a Captain for Manx Airlines for many years and latterly for BA CitiExpress, had undergone extensive treatment for cancer, but died yesterday at a nursing home in Bristol.His funeral will take place in Bristol at 12.30 on Friday 2nd February.(Picture: A WWll "Spitfire IX" takes off from the former RAF Jurby airfield at the 2004 Manx Festival of Aviation) Courtesy of manxscenes.com
