MHK welcomes education response

South Douglas MHK Bill Malarkey has welcomed news the department of Education is to look into problems caused by children who don't speak English as their first language.

Mr Malarkey raised the matter in Tynwald earlier this month, after he says he was contacted by one family.

He says since then, he's spoken to two more.

Mr Malarkey says the issue isn't just language based, as resources are being stretched through a combination of big classes and varying needs:
