Public sector pay hopes

There’s hope the current round of public sector pay negotiations can be concluded before the end of May.

That’s when secretary of the employees side of the Whitley Council, Bernard Moffatt (pictured) is due to retire.

He says he intends to get a good deal for workers before then.

And it’s not just a rise to cover inflation but a share in the buoyant economy our politicians are so proud of:
