No pain for dental patients in South

The Health Minister is reassuring dental patients in the south of the island, after a Port St Mary practitioner has announced he is to withdraw from the NHS.

Speaking on Mandate this morning, Eddie Teare (pictured) said it was unfortunate his department had only been informed at the same time as patients, suggesting there had been a break-down in communication.

But he said he was hopeful a second dentist would be employed at the Thie Rosien practice by May 2007 to make up for the shortfall in services:
