McWhinnie jailed

by isleofman.com 24th January 2007
A 24 year old man has been jailed for two months by the High Bailiff.

Ross James Patrick McWhinnie of Belmont Terrace, Douglas, appeared for sentence after admitting attempting to supply drugs to a man in police custody.

The offence was committed on July 21st after the defendant was contacted by a man, James Waugh, to bring some food to him.

The defendant took a pastie, in which he had concealed a diazapam tablet, to police headquarters.

His defendant said it was a case of misguided loyalty to a friend. He believed he was helping him but realised now that his actions were foolish.

High Bailiff Michael Moyle said it was a very serious matter and custody was inevitable.
