Police have named the teenager who died in an accident on the Jurby Road, Lezayre, on Monday.

He was 15 year old Daniel Boyde, of Balleigh Park, Ramsey

The Ramsey Grammar School student was a rear seat passenger in a white Peugeot 205 car when the driver lost control of the vehicle as it travelled towards Ramsey at around 6.50pm on Sunday.

He suffered critical head injuries in the accident and was flown to Pendlebury Hospital in Manchester where he died last night. The driver and front seat passenger in the car escaped with minor injuries.

The Coroner for South Manchester, Jennifer Leeming, has been informed.

An investigation into the accident is continuing, and police say they would like to speak to anyone who was on the Jurby Road between 6.30 and 6.50pm on Sunday evening, anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or seen a white hatchback car being driven towards Ramsey around the time of the incident.

The number to ring is the Road policing unit on 631 444.
