Standard Bearers Competition

by isleofman.com 22nd January 2007
This year's Isle of Man County Standard Bearers Competition has been won by Mrs Claire Webster of Braddan and Marown branch.

In second place was Ken Cowell of Port Erin branch.

The competition is the first round in the Royal British Legion National Ashwanden Cup competition.

The contest was held over the weekend at Ballakermeen School in the presence of the Mayor, Mrs Betty Quirk, and officials and members of the Royal British Legion.

Mrs Webster will now to Liverpool to represent the Island in the North West Regional Competition next month.

The National Final will be held in Bournemouth at the end of May.

Claire is the wife of County Parade Marshal Stephen Webster, who has won the National Final three times this century.
