Brown's tribute to workforce

The new Chief Minister has paid tribute to, what he calls "the success achieved by the Isle of Man in recent years", thanks to the partnership between the government and the people of the Island.

On today's Sunday Opinion Tony Brown said we had been fortunate to have such a loyal and capable workforce

He said that during the past fifteen or so prosperous years the government had been very supportive of those in need but stressed it was a never ending job, generating employment, and the taxes that produced to provide further services.

Mr Brown said there was no way of knowing what was around the corner, in terms of the scrutiny the Island had come under, in recent times, from the European Union and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.

However, as far as the UK was concerned, the existance of offshore tax centres in its area of control wasn't all bad news (audio file attached):
