Minister reveals conference successes

by isleofman.com 20th January 2007
The Isle of Man's campaign to re launch itself as a conference destination is paying dividends.

The Tourism Minister has revealed around 2000 extra visitors will come to the Island this year to attend eight conferences confirmed so far.

Among the most prestigious organisations, the American Travel Writers Guild has chosen the Island as the venue for its 2007 conference.

The Department has secured funding for a three year project to win a slice of the lucrative conference market, worth an annual ?7.7 billion in the United Kingdom.

Other success stories to date include winning the Royal British Legion Conference in 2010, while two major conferences are already booked for next year, bringing with them 1,500 delegates.
