Holocaust Memorial Service

by isleofman.com 22nd January 2007
The Isle of Man's 2007 National Holocaust Memorial Service will be held at St George's Church, Douglas on Sunday, January 28.

The annual event was first held in 2001, and is run in line with similar commemorations in the United Kingdom.

Holocaust Memorial Day is a time to remember the victims of Nazi persecution, including the six million jews who died in the concentration camps.

A media release from the Chief Minister's office says the Isle of Man has a long and proud tradition of parliamentary democracy and it is entirely appropriate that the Island and its people should mark Holocaust Memorial Day.
